A Vacation Without Traveling

Okay - so we headed down the coast toward Hualtulco which was to be our last stop on the Pacific coast.  Hualtulco is actually the Bahias de Hualtulco (bays of).  I'm not sure how many there actually are but I think it's nine or so.  Some are only accessible by boat - in fact most.  But the northermost (or westernmost) is called Bahia Sacrificios and the little village is San Augustin.  It's part of a national park and the road that leads from Mexico 200 out to the bay is not improved.  It's dirt and was reported as being nine miles (it's not on the map but I found it in a cruising guide) but actually was only seven.  I super wanted to go there because years ago I visited the place by dinghy for a few hours and remembered it as being really nice.  But Mike is the driver so I left it up to him.  I, of course, let him know that it would be a very good place to use our dinghy to see the other bays in the area so he was inspired.  We found the road and it wasn't real bad - just slow and washboard.  But we kept going and we're glad we did.

We chose a palapa restaurant off to the side of the crowds and asked if we could stay a night or two.  Sure, as long as you eat at our restaurant.  No problem.  We decided to take a little vacation from cooking and washing dishes and everything else that took any energy.  And we had a vacation.  The waiters were so nice and they made us three fabulous meals a day.

We got so lazy that we didn't even go snorkeling or take the dinghy out.  It was great!

Bye for now
